THE CITY WALLS
Guided tour and a walk on the ramparts
A walk along the ramparts will be enough to understand the complex range of feelings the medieval man felt approaching Citadella, living in it, watching the horizon from its towers: safety and calm, power and desire of dominion; wonder and even dizziness in front of a masterpiece the man created to subduing the space, to tame it, to harmonize with it in a happy synthesis of culture and nature.
MONTE GRAPPA TREKKING
ESCURSIONI SUL MASSICCIO DEL MONTE GRAPPA
Monte Grappa for morphology, climatic conditions, accessibility and history, is one of the few mountains in which hiking is possible throughout the whole year.
Per la morfologia in quanto tutti i versanti (più o meno) non presentano strapiombi insuperabili e la parte sommitale presenta un andamento più vicino al collinare che al montano.
A city rich with history, art and culture. Plenty of shows and initiatives during the whole year and it is only an hour far; daily trains leave from the near station of Bassano del Grappa.
A ride among art, history and culture
From Borso del Grappa, toward the Marca Trevigiana, in Maser there is Villa Barbaro, It was designed by the architect Andrea Palladio, and since 1996 is UNESCO World Heritage. A building that surely has to be visited for its decorations and the beauty of the structure.
A bit more toward east Asolo and its Fortress deserve a visit. A town with an ancient history, long before the presence of the Romans. Due to the innumerable medieval dominations and also the Republic of Venice's one it was place of incredible stories. Small jewel among the green hills it was home of many artists and literates called to the court of queen Caterina Cornaro. The Plaster Cast Gallery of Possagno picks up numerous chalk models of sculptor Antonio Canova (1757 -1822), surely the greatest among the neoclassic ones. His works in marble are found in the most important Italian museums and all around the world!
